I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU HERE.

A LITTLE LIST OF T-SHIRTS I SAW YESTERDAY

If only the sun were this friendly.

If only the sun were this friendly.

Oh man it is very hot here in NYC.  It is pretty disgusting. Yesterday, I heard someone say, “I’m sweating on top of my sweat.” If that makes you feel a wee bit queasy,  I’m sorry, but I needed to share the pain.  I am included in the many New Yorkers who melted. While I was heavily sweating and questioning how long my entire pant leg could stick to me, I noticed a few summer things. First off, did you ever notice that when people walk with sandals or any open toed shoe, that their big toe goes up first (surprisingly high up) and comes down last? Take a look. It’s happening. Big toes rising up and gliding down all day long. Second, I know they look ridiculous but there are lots of guys outside and on the subway with a damp washcloth just laying on top of their head. I admire their effort to stay cool.

Picture this damp and on someone's head. Also the cloths are almost always white. These looked happier.

Picture this but damp and on someone’s head. Also the sweat preventing cloths are almost always white. These looked happier, so I chose the colorful ones.

Plus I like that these dudes do not care what you think of their look. Fashion is not the priority. Keeping their bald head or their neck sweat free is the priority. I wish there were more risk takers like this with beating the heat. I would support chilly blankets or cooling caps or simply something to contain my ever frizzy hair in this weather. Hashtag wishful thinking.

When I wasn’t looking down at toes, I was looking up and noticing some fun t-shirts. I needed to share these with you too. As I walked around in the oppressive heat, I did smile here and there, seeing these shirts. Hope they make you smile too.

Hopefully you are enduring the heat or your commute or whatever it is that you want to give up on right now. Listen to the T-Shirt and NEVER GIVE UP.  If you have a way to stay cool rather than sweating it out, do share.

THANKS AS ALWAYS FOR READING.

ps…I might keep up with the summer related posts, I might not.  I like to say, “You never know what’s next in life”  and I suppose this applies to whatever I write here. Thanks again! And although I don’t like this saying, I can’t help myself and type it, “Stay cool!”

I noticed that about my toes too! I think it’s a subconscious feeling that the sandals are going to fall off or that your foot is going to slip through the front of the sandal, which did happen to me once on a very rainy day. Also sandals are dangerous as I’ve just learned! A piece of broken beer bottle glass got right in mine and OWE. I’m rethinking wearing sandals at ALL now! haha!

Astute observations! The t-shirt game is strong in NYC. You too need a washcloth. They’re very in. I would like to propose that the cupcake shirt be changed to ‘real men BAKE cupcakes’. Just saying.
