Here are 3 things I randomly learned from the internet. Click on the bold links below to learn more:
- You can make a bruise (yes, a bruise) disappear with VINEGAR. I learned this lesson just a few weeks into joining a running club. I was running and talking. I was making new friends. I was being sporty. I was falling down onto my knees when I was mid-sentence and mid-stride. Immediately I decided not to look under my pant legs until I got home. It was ugly. One major scrape and one major bump + bruise. And in exactly 3 days I would be wearing a short dress to a baby shower. This VINEGAR trick was really amazing. It was one of the handful of times I wished I had a roommate here (besides my dog) to share in the moment. I hope you never need to use this tip, but if you do, call me and we can be mesmerized together.
2. You can UNCLOG YOUR SHOWER DRAIN with a VOLCANO. Okay not a real volcano. One of those baking soda ones. I have had very long hair for the past 10 years or so. I have grown used to it, but my friends and family’s plumbing have not. My long hair is often clogging up drains. Drains in my parents’ pool. Drains at my best friends’ house in Florida (sorry J+P). Drains in my very own apartments. After my cousins visited and politely put up with the pool of water in the shower, I decided to take action. Again, you won’t be disappointed. Call me and we can marvel and how simply a problem can be fixed.
3. You can stretch out tight shoes with ICE. This one is my favorite. This summer, when my cousin Paul, his girlfriend and I were spending the day in Brooklyn, we stopped for a coffee break along a sweaty, humid walk. Inside the coffee shop, we saw a girl wearing pair of shoes we both needed in our lives (not pictured above. We’re protecting their identity). Paul quickly snapped a photo and we later searched online and purchased. When the shoes came to our respective homes, we texted each other about how we loved them AND how they were simultaneously destroying our pinky toes and turning the back of our heals into mush. So I turned to the internet and saved the shoe. The ice worked. And it is almost a year later and I’m still comfortably wearing them.
Hope this list helped you in some way. If you have any simple ideas that you discovered on the world wide web, please share away. I know you can remove very stuck stickers by blowing a hair dryer on them for 45 seconds (thank you Adrienne F!). Thanks as always for reading. Till next time…
